The Amateurs

About the film:

You might say this is the puppy love version of adult movies! One that no man can resist!

How do everyday common people try to make way for fame and fortune stuck in the most boring little town ever? Andy, a middle-aged divorcé that just recently lost his job, seeks different ways to quickly make himself a rich man. A brilliant idea came across his mind one day watching a stroll into an adult video shop: That’s it! What makes better money than porn? Andy’s outrageous plan surprisingly won over his friends’ support, and everyone pitched in. Who knows what will happen to these “amateurs” that go to great lengths to achieve their dream?

G! VOICE Introduces:

Six friends come together to try to find fame and fortune by making the world’s most innocent adult movie ever made. Although they have literally no idea what they’re doing, they keep at it and are determined to accomplish their goal.

It’s hard enough to find a competent crew, let alone raising funds, nailing the script, hiring actors and all that. However, things start to fall apart one after the other: The main role regretted taking the job and wanted out; unraveling all kinds of problems for the crew. It then hit Andy that, every business has its dark side.

It’s the same in real life, you know. Everything looks simple until you decide to get your hands dirty.

The thing is, we must always keep in mind what our goal is at all times. That is the only way to endure till the end, and overcome all obstacles.

The title refers to people engaging in an art, science, study of athletic activity as a pastime rather than a profession. Rather than arguing the semantic of what an amateur is, this is indeed a story about a group of individuals that are not skilled in — yet try to perfect — what they practice.  All in all, this work captures the American spirit: “If you try hard enough, your dreams will surely come true.”
